The Living Room_Auroville is a relaxed café and restaurant nestled opposite the Auroville Library on Crown Road. It offers a welcoming spot for anyone looking to unwind with a solid breakfast or a casual meal in the heart of Auroville’s community zone. The atmosphere here leans towards cozy and laid-back, making it a natural fit for morning visitors wanting a quiet start or for those who appreciate a calm midday break, especially since the space doesn't have air conditioning, which means lunchtime on warm days feels more suited to the cooler hours.

Locals and travelers alike seem to appreciate the balanced mix of well-prepared Indian and Western-style dishes. The menu notably serves up favorites like dosa and cappuccino, but also features a diverse range from fresh fruit juices and smoothies to appetizers like tofu croquettes and pan-fried prawns. This variety means it works well for those who want to dip into something light and fresh or settle down with a more filling meal. The freshly squeezed orange juice and millets pancakes have gotten particular nods, reflecting both the emphasis on wholesome ingredients and the kitchen’s care for quality.

The Living Room thrives as a place to linger without rush — whether catching up with a friend over coffee, enjoying a quiet solo reading session referencing the nearby library, or a casual lunch where the environment encourages relaxation. Service has been described as friendly and attentive if a bit slow on busy days, which further adds to the unhurried mood many visitors find refreshing in this part of Auroville.

Overall, it feels like a spot tuned to the local rhythm: thoughtful food, a modest price point, and a peaceful setting that fits well with the contemplative vibe of Auroville itself. It’s best visited during mornings or late afternoons when the heat of the day is gentler, and it invites anyone interested in a simple yet varied menu to take their time and enjoy a meal away from the usual tourist buzz.

If you want a quiet and excellent breakfast then The Living Room is your place. The quality and quantity of the food they serve is top notch. We loved everything we had - the pancakes with millets were excellent, the fluffy french toast - best in town I guess and freshly squeezed juice. Can’t wait to try everything on the menu one by one.

A lovely new find in Auroville! This newly opened spot isn’t very well-known yet, but it definitely deserves more attention. The prices are super reasonable and the menu has a good variety – from tasty sandwiches to delicious Indian dishes. Their fresh orange juice is an absolute must-try, so refreshing! The place has a nice, relaxed vibe and feels like the kind of spot you’d happily keep coming back to. The only downside was the super slow service, but hopefully that improves with time. Definitely worth checking out if you’re around Auroville!

Beautiful place to discover in Auroville. The menu offers many veg and non veg options. From soups to sandwiches, western to eastern cuisine. Had their chikoo ice cream as dessert, it was heaven... Staff is friendly and at your service.

Love the place. Prices are the higher end but very goos delicious food. They have good chefs who get the taste on point!! I lime to work here, the space is very comfy and the service kind. Only downside is the internet. Wifi is only available for 2 hours after that you have to wait till the next day. It is to prevent long time workers... It sucks a bit if you want to sit longer. A proposal from my end is that the people who are running it, give the option to buy extra wifi hours would benefits both sides! PS: Chekc the potato leek soup. You don't find something like this anywhere else!!!!
